M's Rules of Order

We don't have them. We don't want them. We don't need them. It is pretty much everything we are not about, so:

If your submission contains any content that advertises products or services for profit or gain you will not be published on this site.

We love that we can and will publish anyone who submits their work. And are more than happy to provide you privacy when sharing your views and opinions on the site, however behind the scenes we need to know who you really are.

-Submissions must included your full real name, City and State, and a valid e-mail address.

-You must included a short bio about yourself.

-Links to your social media are extremely helpful but not required in any way

-You may include previous writing experience or publications of your work. However this will not have any positive or negative effect on the selection process.

We are all adult enough to use our computers and share our thoughts, now lets be adult enough to use our words and make clear and concise statements regarding our feelings or position. Although we encourage writings on any subject with the use of decorum there will be absolutely no use of any:

-Name-calling, slurs, abusive insults, bullying, harassing, stalking, or is considered likely to attack others.

-Content that attacks, marginalizes, or dehumanizes a group of people or an individual because of their race, religion, disability, ethnicity, disease, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, financial means, immigration status, or political party affiliation.

-Links to sites with hateful or hate-filled commentary

-Content that is pornographic, sexually explicit, obscene, or contains nudity

-Content that is cruel

-Content that contains graphic descriptions of violent, abusive, or gory situations

-Content that promotes or glorifies self-mutilation, eating disorders, physical abuse, sexual abuse or drug abuse.

The people you are talking to, or about, are real. They have feelings, emotions and opinions of their own. Even though you are behind a keyboard and may never be known for this work please remember your words can cause action. Therefore there will be absolutely no use of:

-Content that threatens or glorifies violence against another person or group.

-Links to websites with hateful content or that project or threaten violence.

-Insinuation of or direct use of child pornography or exploitation. We report any instances to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and local law enforcement.

-Content that displays personal information such as phone numbers and/or postal or email addresses of an individual or entity without their prior approval or consent

When presenting facts, statistics or quotes in your submission please site your sources thoroughly. Authors with submissions containing broken links or unfounded facts or statistics will not be published. If a fact is a main support or backbone of your work remember to:

-provide an unbroken current link to the site you are referencing. Adding section or tab location when necessary.

-If citing a traditionally printed form of writing provide the proper information such as title, author, and page number located when needed.

-Do not present a fact, statistic or quote as anything than what it factually is and can be proven to be

These are exclusive to us at Lttop:

-When citing sources or presenting facts in your submission social media posts alone will not suffice. Although you may quote an individual or entity from social media in your work and cite it as such.

-Linking to a social media post for a fact or statistic stated in your work will not be considered citing a credible source. You can mention the statements in your work, however they will not be considered as from a factual source.

-If the social media post in question links to an article or statistic presented from a legitimate source, please cite that source alone.

NOTE: Links to Op-eds, Editorials, or Letters to the Editor are not considered a factual source. This of course is because these are opinion, not fact. Again, you may use quotes from these works.

REMEMBER: You do not need to present cited factual sources in your Op-ed or Rebuttal. It simply adds factual evidence to back up your perspective.

The following will not be tolerated at LTTOP:

-Child pornography or exploitation or insinuation thereof.

-Content that condones or encourages unlawful activity.

-Content that involves defamation or contempt of court.

-Content that infringes on intellectual property, copyright, or trademark rights.

-Content that has been plagiarized in any way

-Content that depicts or promotes unwanted sexual contact.

-Content that promotes illegal drugs, firearms, or explosives.

-Content that displays personal information such as phone numbers and/or postal or email addresses.
